Technological solutions forclimate protection in transportation

Germany’s automotive industry is firmly committed to the Paris climate goals and to achieving climate-neutral road transport by no later than 2050. To that end, manufacturers and suppliers are investing heavily in research, development, and the transformation of their plants.

In addition to electromobility as a key pillar, technology-neutral approaches are needed—especially in the field of hydrogen mobility. This session highlights the potential of modern battery technologies, the role of bidirectional charging, and the prospects for using hydrogen, particularly in heavy-duty transport.

We will discuss how Germany and Europe can build the necessary infrastructure and which innovation pathways can pave the way to climate-neutral transportation.
