Dr. Tobias Schweickhardt studied Engineering Cybernetics at the University of Stuttgart and General Engineering Sciences at École Centrale Paris, and earned his PhD in Control Theory at the University of Stuttgart.

At MathWorks, he advised customer projects in computation, simulation, and model-based design as well as automatic code generation, before joining the then Daimler AG. There, he held various development roles in embedded software and functional safety in power electronics for heavy-duty commercial vehicles, as well as leadership positions for software modules, development processes, and functional safety in autonomous driving for passenger cars.

He subsequently led, together with his team, several IT systems for thousands of users in electronics development worldwide. Since 2022, he has been responsible at Daimler Truck AG for the regulatory strategy of connected and automated vehicles.
