Dr. Michael Kraus

Michael Kraus advises and represents companies on all matters of technology and data law as well as data protection law, with a particular focus on the automotive, banking & insurance, and energy sectors. He specializes in supporting complex IT and software projects. He has extensive experience drafting and negotiating contracts for technology and digital transformation projects as well as for data-driven business models. In addition, he advises on the IT-law aspects of future-oriented topics such as AI, connected cars, e-mobility, the data economy, and the Internet of Things, and supports new business models in digital business. Another focus of Michael Kraus’s work is advising on the IT-law aspects of technology transactions, in particular transitional services agreements. Michael Kraus joined CMS in 2010 and has been a partner since 2018. He is a frequent speaker on digitalization topics as well as IT and data protection law. He is a co-author of the Otto Schmidt Verlag commentary on IT law.
