Co-founder and CEO of Persival GmbH, which supports sensor manufacturers and OEMs in the specification, development, and validation of sensor models for the development, training, and testing of automation and physical AI. International expert with various roles: Founding member of the ASAM Open Simulation Interface and its Change Control Board. Member of the working group for DIN ISO 11010-2 Passenger cars – Classification of simulation models Part 2: Perception sensor models for ADAS/AD. Successful defense of his doctoral thesis on “Metrics for the specification, validation, and uncertainty prediction for credibility in the simulation of active perception sensor systems” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Hermann Winner on November 8, 2022. Part of the team at the Darmstadt Vehicle Technology Research Center (FZD) that provided sensor system simulation for lidar and radar as part of the German research projects SET Level and VVMethods for the safety validation of ADS. Former work package leader for “System Component Simulation and Stimuli” in the ECSEL JU project ENABLE-S3. Part of the team at FZD for the implementation and validation of radar sensor and lidar sensor system simulation for the safety validation of ADS in the research projects PEGASUS (application case: highway pilot) and ENABLE-S3 (application case: valet parking).
