    Born on December 18, 1977, in Hattingen.

    1997 Abitur in Essen; 1997 to 1998 mandatory military service in Essen; 1998 to 2003 law studies at Ruhr University Bochum; 2003 First State Examination in Law; 2003 to 2005 legal clerkship at the Regional Court of Essen as well as legal work on the side; 2005 Second State Examination in Law and admission to the bar.
    Since 2005 attorney; 2009 to 2023 partner at the law firm Esch & Kramer Rechtsanwälte; since 2010 board-certified specialist attorney for banking and capital markets law.

    1993 joined the Junge Union; 2000 to 2007 member of the JU NRW state executive board, most recently as state legal counsel; 2003 to 2007 district chair of JU Essen; 2007 to 2010 regional chair of JU Ruhrgebiet; 1994 joined the CDU; since 2007 member of the CDU Essen district executive board; 2009 to 2015 city district chair; 2011 to 2015 deputy district chair of CDU Essen; since 2015 district chair of CDU Essen; since 2018 member of the CDU NRW state executive board; 1999 to 2004 member of Essen District Council IX (Werden/Kettwig/Bredeney); 2004 to 2013 member of the Essen City Council.

    Member of the Bundestag since 2013; lead rapporteur of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group on the 3rd Committee of Inquiry (Wirecard) of the 19th legislative term; lead rapporteur of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group on the Finance Committee of the 20th legislative term; since April 2021 Chair of the Ruhrgebiet Working Group of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group, as well as Deputy Chair of the North Rhine-Westphalia state group of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group.
