Nicoletta Wagner is Head of the Future Engineering Division at the European Space Agency (ESA) at ESTEC in Noordwijk. In this role, she is responsible for the strategic transformation toward digital, AI-driven, and industrialized systems development, thereby playing a key role in shaping the future of European space exploration. Previously, she led key transformation initiatives in the Ariane 6 program with a budget of approximately 150 million euros and was responsible for managing infrastructure assets valued at around 3 billion euros. Before joining ESA, she held several leadership positions at Airbus Defence & Space, including P&L responsibility for a product portfolio in the field of power electronics. Her professional focus lies at the intersection of technology, strategy, and transformation, particularly in the areas of artificial intelligence, sustainable infrastructure, and industrial scaling. Nicoletta Wagner is a certified supervisory board member, a mentor in the UN “Space for Women” program, and is committed to future-oriented leadership and strengthening European innovation.
