Technological Solutions for Climate Protection in Transport

    Day 2 | March 27, 2026

The German automotive industry is firmly committed to the Paris climate goals and to achieving climate-neutral road transport by no later than 2050. To this end, manufacturers and suppliers are investing heavily in research, development, and the transformation of their plants.

In addition to electric mobility as a central pillar, technology-open approaches are required – particularly in the field of hydrogen mobility. This session highlights the potential of advanced battery technologies, the role of bidirectional charging, and the prospects for the use of hydrogen, especially in heavy-duty transport.

The discussion focuses on how Germany and Europe can establish the necessary infrastructure and which innovation pathways can pave the way toward climate-neutral transport.
